On Wednesday 9th July, 30 Kingsbury High School students got an opportunity to go to ‘Rock Assembly 2014’. It was held in Wembley Arena and was a music concert organised for school students. Many schools came from all over England to watch the concert, for example: Birmingham, London, Cornwall and many other places. It was a great pleasure for all of us to be representing Kingsbury High School.
To qualify for tickets we had to get involved with the BT Digital Champions. Here we had to register and our task was to help get someone to use the internet in anyway. All of us taught someone how to do something on the internet and we had write a little bit about it online. The purpose of Rock Assembly is to get more people to go online.
We were lucky to be able to see famous artists perform like Professor Green, Conor Maynard, George the Poet, Misha B, Ella Eyre, Arjun and many others. Every performance was unique and enjoyable. We spent quite a few hours at Wembley Arena. However, no one took notice of the time because they were too interested in the performances. The audience went wild during every performance.
Students from year 7,8,9,10 and a few older students from the 6th form who took part in music based events or clubs were chosen to go to the concert. Mr Dominé, Mrs Snow and Mrs Mohan came along with us. The older students had made the concert even better by their presence. Some of the younger students had followed Yusuf, a 6th form student because his moves were very different and catchy. Everyone was entertained and had a fantastic day.
Overall all of us walked out of the arena with big smiles on our faces. It was an unforgettable day out with our peers. All of us would cherish this memory and look forward to be able to go next year with more students. Thank you for the teachers and older students who came along with us. Also a big thank you to Mr Domine for organising this for the students and for Mrs Snow for having the idea to go in the first place.

30 selected students were lucky enough to attend the 2014 Rock Assembly at Wembley Arena on Wednesday 9th July. This was a concert sponsored by BT, Barclays Bank and a charity called the Transformation Trust. To qualify for the tickets the students had to teach a member of their family how to do something new on the internet and then write about the experience on the BT Digital Champions website. The students were selected to attend based on their commitment and contribution to the music department this year as well as their overall attitude to learning.

Students saw a wide range of musicians and DJ’s. The students were most excited to see Professor Green and Connor Maynard with several students close to fainting when the British equivalent of Justin Beiber came on stage!
Kingsbury High School were also privileged to receive the first ‘shout out’ of the event from the host, Radio 1’s Nihal!
A review written by Shamini (Year 8) will be coming soon!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry about 250 passengers. This blog was viewed about 1,500 times in 2012. If it were a Dreamliner, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.
